The spammers found Furl

June 23rd, 2006

It’s unfortunate. I subscribed to Furl’s most-popular feed for about a year, it was a good index of what’s good on the web. In the last week the noise on that feed has gone up, with links to Myrtle beach real estate and Acne meds.

Furl could block this stuff with a combination of IP blacklisting, multi-user from single-IP blacklist, topic red-flags, and a script that looks for all the same stuff being bookmarked by most of the same people… when that happens I’ll go back there, until then I’ll just use it for saving those NY Times articles.
