New Game: Bicycle Water-Balloon Jousting

July 4th, 2007

We tried this one out last night. We got two water balloons (the bigger the better here), two people, two bicycles (skateboards will also work), and a quiet street. I faced Leslie in the first match, and while she may beat me at Tetris, nimble fingers will not save you in the world of bicycle water-balloon jousting. We started half-block away from each other, faced off, and rode one-handed forward. We didn’t have much momentum when our paths crossed, so Leslie got me pretty good in the right knee, and I soaked most of her left side.

Sarah went up against Vinnie in the second round. They started a full block apart, which means they were moving faster when they crossed paths. Moving faster == harder to aim, and both missed.

In closing, I recommend starting 3/4′s of a block apart when you play your Bicycle Warter-Ballon Joust match. Happy Fourth of July.
