Shoe story

June 9 I came home to these shoes by my porch / stoop.

And this afternoon, 84 days later, their owner came back to claim them.
And this afternoon, 84 days later, their owner came back to claim them.

He didn’t speak much english, and he said he had been in the detox center on the corner of my block. I believed him because:

  1. He wore a hospital-style info bracelet.
  2. He was only wearing socks.
  3. The shoes fit.

In between that time, I’ve run into other abandoned shoes.
Sometimes just one shoe, sometimes a pair.

I wondered: How did those shoes get there?

Those aren’t the only stray shoes I’ve seen this summer. Nope. Since I carry my camera just about everywhere, I also have documentation of the other lost shoe / shoes:
