Four things a disc jockey could be thinking if nobody’s dancing at the party that they’re spinning at:

January 2nd, 2008

New Year’s Eve I witnissed a dj spin to a crowd of 50 people, and zero dancers. Not just zero for a song or two, but zero for most every song. I like putting myself in my enemy’s head, so here’s a list of the four things I came up with that dj could have possibly been thinking:

  1. “Maybe this next song is the one that will get the people dancing.”
  2. “I’m not here to get the people dancing.”
  3. “These people and their legs don’t understand my music. My music must be of a higher quality than any they have seen.”
  4. “I don’t care.”

There were other djs in the evening, and dance-offs, head-butts and jumping contests were had. Happy 2008, y’all~
