bacon. I’ve been using that word a lot this week. This month. Yeah, really, this year. This week the new band I’m in, The Bacon Lobby, released our first song and music video. It’s called Bacon Man, and it’s about Obama. Sometimes we call it Obama Bacon Man. It goes “O–bama bacon man, make it in the frying pan, can he make it yes he can, O–bama bacon man.” I wrote most of those words, Sarah wrote some, and Joachim put it all together on the track and the video. Here’s the first, original video, by Joachim:

And here’s the second cut of the video, done by Mat:

No, not Denver. In Denver “cars” takes first. Yeah, we like cars more than getting our erotic stuff serviced. I think that makes me proud to be here.

Tonight I launched Joe Think, my blog about how local journalism can use the internet to be awesome and relevant. It’s something I meant to do a while ago, but ya’ know, stuff comes up. Stuff is still coming up, sure. But I needed a better home for my work-related rants and thoughts and ideas — you should see how many Joe Think posts I’ve got waiting to be published. I’ve been living in my head with a bunch of these fairly easy ideas about the way online news could work for too long, it’s time to get some air. Go on and check it out at www.joethink.com/blog.
